Robofest Competition

Robofest is an annual robotics festival and competition. The robotics exhibition is a great way for Competitors to show off their imagination and creativity by building autonomous robots that use plastic building pieces.

Our Goal

The aim is to create a website for this competition that is compelling and inviting to the user to navigate with compelling imagery that helps the user realize that they can explore creating a robot that takes the form of the animal world and that keeps the user interested and intrigued, and compels the user to want to participate in the competition.

Prototyping and Interactions

The paper sketches and prototypes establishes understanding of the product and Robofest’s layout, usability, and content were well planned and thought out. Consistency in layout, navigation, and visuals, made it user friendly and easy to navigate.

UI Design Elements and Concept Research

The end goal of the imagery is to keep the user on the website by using compelling imagery and keeps the user wanting to explore all screens to see what imagery will be used on each screen and keeps the user navigating the website, the end purpose is to excite and impel the user to want to sign up and participate in the competition.

I concepted the use of oversized insects and incorporating an x-ray imagery that highlights the companies hardware and software products that can be used to create functioning robotics.

The imagery used is intended to extend into marketing collateral to promote the competition.
